Quorum Nursery

The first of the nurseries to be constructed, on a business park to the North of Newcastle. This established the basic design layout, with playrooms grouped around central spine corridors and staff in ancillary accommodation in a projecting wing. The site was located in a flood zone and there were ecological issues to be overcome, with voles in the adjoining stream.

The form of the building and its elevational treatment were designed to be compatible with the surrounding commercial buildings. The basic construction is timber framed and the construction period was very quick.
