Wynyard Nursery

Following an abortive attempt to secure planning permission within the Wynyard residential development, this was the second nursery in the series. Located on the business park, between Wynyard Park House and the A689, it enjoys a prominent position and is visible from the main road. Although the general arrangement is based upon the Quorum nursery, there was a considerable refinement and rationalisation of the plan and elevational treatment.

The plan was simplified, the area reduced and the elevations given a more ‘domestic’ feel with the introduction of pitched roofs. Landscaped gardens and external play spaces form an integral part of the use and impact of the building, as a whole. The nursery is registered to take 108 pre-school children.
