Bowling Wars – The Peat Strikes Back – Episode I

The AMA team enjoyed a night out at the new Lane 7 haunt where there was a feeding frenzy of American cuisine (burgers, ranch and smoke style), consumption of Granpa’s cough medicine made of Hops and Barley circa 5% and some fine boulevard bowling. James ‘the Power’ Peat nicked it by 1 from Ollie ‘Curveball’ Currie in the grand final and are all set for Episode II in 2014!Social-Lane-7-Bowling

Crown Care Home in Selby – Journal article

The practice were the Architect/Contract Administrator on the scheme in Yorkshire, built by the principal contractor Brims Construction. It is due to open its doors iminently. Durham Dales Targa Rally 2013

Cool Runnings! Great film and the way it ended, brilliant – you know, with the two blokes pushing it across the finish line?! Hang on a minute, there were four of them but it’s easily mistaken for the same ending in the film as on the ‘Dales this year.

Ollie was out with Paul Hughes were out in the blue 106 and having started slowly, a near wrong test on 1 then a driver error resulting in a wrong test on 3 meant after the first loop they were on the pace but down the standings. After a better middle part of the day they were up to 1st in Class and fighting for 6th o/a. Read more…

Walk with a Roman Soldier

AMA recently enjoyed a day out with Gambax and Fullatrix; two very knowledgeable Roman soldiers from Wild Dog Outdoors, a local company who provide organised walks and talks at Cawfields on the ancient monument that runs from Bowness to Wallsend. Despite the windy conditions, the team had a great time and learnt a huge amount from the excellent acts and lectures from Gambax and Fullatrix, they even told us things about architecture as we can’t be expected to know it all. Sandcastle Challenge 2013

Friday 5 July was a wonderfully sunny day to be on Sandhaven Beach in South Shields for the North East Sandcastle Challenge.

This year’s theme for the Challenge was ‘The Lindisfarne Gospels’ and there were 1700 school children on the beach for a frantic [strictly timed] hour of digging, building, shaping, decorating and general masterpiece-producing.

Five of us from Alston Murphy were there to compete for the winner’s crown and we all had a great time!  (It’s the taking part that matters!)
